RoyMech is an independent engineering reference website founded in 2000 and continuously published at roymech.co.uk. The site was originally created by Roy Beardmore as a comprehensive technical resource covering many aspects of mechanical engineering.
All RoyMech technical articles, diagrams, tables, and explanatory material were originally created for and first published on roymech.co.uk. RoyMech operates independently and is not affiliated with, mirrored by, or derived from any other website or domain using the “RoyMech” name.
Year 2000
RoyMech was founded in 2000 with the creation of the website roymech.co.uk by Roy Beardmore. Drawing on over 45 years of professional engineering experience, Roy created RoyMech as an independent technical reference, cataloguing many aspects of mechanical engineering.
All RoyMech technical articles, diagrams, tables, and explanatory material were originally created for and first published on roymech.co.uk. Roy continued to develop and expand the site for over 13 years, building the original body of content that defines RoyMech.
Year 2013
Roy Beardmore sadly passed away on 9 March 2013. His contribution to engineering education through RoyMech remains widely valued and respected.
Year 2019
The RoyMech website at roymech.co.uk temporarily went offline. The original content, authorship, and purpose of the site remained unchanged.
Year 2021
Andrew Wade took over stewardship of roymech.co.uk and restored the website to active publication. The site was updated with a new menu system and additional features, while preserving the original RoyMech content created by Roy Beardmore.
RoyMech continues to operate as an independent engineering reference, maintaining its original content and expanding it with new material. This ongoing work builds on the foundations established in 2000, with the aim of providing a single, trusted resource for engineering knowledge.
